Super Bulky Market-Side Bag Pattern

Years ago, I took a knitting class and the teacher handed out a pattern for a very simple string bag. I made one at the time, and thought it was the bee's knees.

I haven't been able to find the pattern again, anywhere.

So here is a modified version done in super bulky yarn.

It has short, soft, garter stitch handles for easy carrying, a stretchy, open-weave body for carrying capacity, a band of garter around the base to keep things from falling out, and a square base.
